It's official. We're living in our new house! Thank you Joe, Sharlene, Uncle Pat, Aunt Peggy and David for helping us move! So far we have the kitchen, living room and guest room completely unpacked. We're about halfway finished with the master bedroom - there are just a TON of clothes to unpack and put away. The living room and bedroom curtains went up last night and we'll finish the rest tonight. Finally, total privacy from the neighbors.
The poor cat is still freaking out a bit. I forgot what it's like to move with an animal. All week she was packing herself in open boxes, a gentle reminder to not forget her. Saturday we put her up in an empty room so she wouldn't get out while we were loading the truck. She sat in the window and cried the whole time. Tom's dad said she looked like she wanted to run after the truck when we left. We came back to get her Saturday night and she looked so happy to see us. She usually loves car rides, but this time, she wouldn't stop crying. We finally got her to the new house and set up her food and litterbox. We put her in the litterbox 3 times and she still wouldn't go. She didn't leave our sides all night. I woke up a few times Saturday night and there she was, sitting on our bed. Finally Sunday morning I walked her back downstairs and put her in her litterbox and she immediately used it. By last night she was starting to explore a little more. Hopefully by the end of this week she'll be back to her normal self.
I promise to take pictures as soon as we have everything unpacked in put away. You wouldn't even recognize the living room with the new paint, furniture and curtains. And you definitely won't recognize it after Tuesday - our new TV comes!
I expected to wake up feeling weird on Sunday, but the feeling hasn't come yet. I think it's because of all of the time we've spent at the house getting it ready. I'm sure once everything's settled, it'll hit me. For now the cat's doing enough freaking out for the 3 of us.
And finally, yay for the Redskins' 23-17 victory over the Eagles!
