Today on the Stasa channel...

Balloons are never not fun.

There are many many ways to play with a slinky.

When you're a toddler, cleaning seems like a game and not a chore.

Learning to walk in the snow isn't always easy, but it's always fun.

Who cares that the snow isn't all white, it still tastes good.

The Big Sister

We attempted to take some cute pictures of Stasa in her Big Sister shirt, but she wasn't having it. She was much more interested in trying to rip my backdrop paper or eating apples or looking through photo albums. We're going to try again, but this time we're going to do some DIY maternity pictures, too.

Huh? I'm going to be a what?

What does my shirt say?

Aww, man! Big sister?!

Not interested. Thanks for asking.

Stasa's 2nd Birthday

I was awful about taking pictures during her party and didn't break out the cameras until Kelly reminded me. So here are just a few shots (there are more on my other camera) of the birthday girl and her BFF.

I'll try to remember to post the other pictures and the cute video of the girls later this week.

State of the Uterus

Another appointment.

I've gained a total of 16 pounds since I got pregnant, my blood pressure is good, and everything's looking good. The baby is already head down and should stay that way which means I probably won't need a c-section. The doctor did say that I shouldn't be surprised if I end up going into labor with this baby 10 or so days early.

I also got the paperwork for circumcision (if we end up having a boy) and the pre-registration materials for the hospital. Now I just need to start the process at work to get signed up for short-term disability.

2 Years Old

Stasa turned 2 on the 15th and went to her first annual check-up today.

Stats:
30 lbs (75th-90th percentile)
34" tall (50th percentile)
19" head (75th percentile)

All in all a good sized little girl. We got the green light to switch her to 2% milk, so now we only have to buy one type of milk (yay!). Tom also asked about her refusing dinner some nights and the doctor said it was okay as long as she's getting a good breakfast and lunch. Tom said she was showing off a bit and talked through the whole appointment.

I do have some pictures from her birthday brunch and will post those soon - I've been a bit lazy about downloading pictures this week.

The Thief

I'm sorry to say we have a thief in our house...a milkshake thief. Tom got a large vanilla milkshake to share with Stasa and as soon as he gave her a taste she ran off with the whole thing and gulped as much as she could. And then when my back was turned she grabbed mine, too!

"Preeeeety Pincess"

Dress-up time is becoming more and more popular around here. Stasa loves putting on her Cinderella dress from her Aunt Jennifer and Uncle Josh and calls herself a "pincess" when she's wearing it - and that's without ever having watched Cinderella (or any princess movie). Add the play rings and she thinks she "preeeety!"

The budding photographer

Stasa got her hot little hands on our point-and-shoot camera and kept demanding that we "cheese" for her. Amazingly she figured out how to take our pictures - we'll work on getting them in focus next time.

"Snow" day!

We took Stasa out in the pathetic little snow we got over the weekend, mostly to get some use out of the snowsuit and boots we had already bought for the season. She didn't seem to mind that there wasn't a ton of the white stuff on the ground and spent the majority of the time throwing pre-made snowballs at the house.

State of the Uterus

Well, I passed the glucose test with flying colors, but tested as being slightly anemic so I have to start taking an iron supplement, which is the same as when I was pregnant with Stasa. I went for my last monthly appointment today and will start going every two weeks now until I'm 36 weeks. I've gained another 5 pounds and the baby's heartbeat was nice and strong at 150 beats a minute.

I've been having Braxton Hicks contractions, which are pretty uncomfortable, but manageable. The heartburn still comes and goes, but hasn't been as bad lately.

This baby has been way more active in utero than Stasa ever was. The other night it must have been doing somersaults and other gymnastics in there because I was getting feet, legs, head, butt, pretty much every body part jammed into my sides.

26 Weeks, belated

Liter of soda

I'm going to try to get my 1 hour glucose test done this afternoon since I have another doctor appointment this Friday and I was supposed to get it done last week. I'll give another State of the Uterus after that appointment.
