Saturday night was Tom's 10 year high school reunion. He was on the fence about going since we received the invitation, but finally decided to attend. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't awesome either. The reunion was held at Champions in Georgetown (who knows why it wasn't held in Fairfax) and driving there was a bit of a pain. There was an okay showing of people, but not a lot for a class of 400. Tom did get to see (and talk to) his high school crush. And he actually admitted to having a crush on her which she thought was flattering. He also let her know he still has a picture of the two of them from Cavalier Cruise with her in a swimsuit and him with a shit-eating grin. She asked if she looked horrible in the picture - I assured her she looks normal - it's Tom that's the creep in the picture. She and Jennifer thought this was hilarious and wished he had brought the picture with him (which I thought would have made him creepier). So now we've got to scan it in and send it to her. I was hoping there would be more people scantily clad or making a fool out of themselves, but everyone (with the exception of Tom Smith) was pretty laid back. I was right though, Jennifer; Derrick did go, but you were right about Dan being an ass all night. He told Lani she could change her name to Shithead on her name tag and he wouldn't care. What a great husband.
Saturday was also Tom's 28th birthday and we spent it hanging around the house, getting the Passat's oil changed and shopping for the house. Fun times, right? Sunday, Tom went over to his dad's for the Redskins game (sigh, stupid Redskins) while I stayed home to finish painting the hallway and dining room. When he got home we headed over to Lowe's to get a new light fixture for the dining room and some other things we needed. I think we'll have everything pretty much finished by next weekend, so I'll try to take some pictures of the place then.
Happy Columbus Day everyone!
