A humid walk around the 'hood

Family of shadows

Note: not our junk or our house behind me. This is what happens when you live amongst the multi-family dwellings.

When you're tired, you can always ride on Daddy's shoulders.

First family walk

I have been dying to get out of the house and since we had decent weather the other day we decided to take a short family walk. It felt so good to get out and be active. We've been letting Stasa walk on her own, but she's still working on listening to us when we get to a corner. I was laughing after looking at these pictures because we ended up taking 3 strollers with us: 1 for Lexi, 1 for Stasa in case she got tired, and 1 for Stasa's baby.

Cry baby walker

We try to take a walk most days after work or after dinner. Now when I say "let's go bye bye" to Stasa, she grabs her shoes and bee-lines for her stroller. But God forbid we stop walking. She gets so mad at us and turns on the waterworks. She has such a hard life. Seriously.

Oh, and the other week I scraped and repainted our mailbox pole only to come home the next day to this:

Starting the walk - they literally kicked us "out" to start the walk since we were still just standing at the start line, gabbing away.

A walk to the park

Tom and I are back on the walking wagon and have been trying to take a walk around the neighborhood every evening. Yesterday we got the bright idea to walk to Briar Patch park which has a TON of playground equipment, basketball, tennis and volleyball courts. The walk there was a little over a mile, but it was definitely worth it. Stasa LOVED the park and climbing on all of the equipment and especially loved going down the slide by herself. BIG GIRL!

Arriving at the park: "I'm not so sure about this, mama."

"Just kidding. Peace!"

"Daddy! Daddy! I wanna ride on THAT toy!"

"Okay, I'm ready to move on now. Let's go to the tunnel!"

"I wanna SWING now! SWING! SWING! PUSH ME!"

"What's that yellow thing over there? Let's go check it out."

"WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"

We're going to try to make a trip to the park at least once a week. It'll be much easier to navigate the streets once we have a jogging stroller, too. And then we can hit the W&OD trail, too!

Our walk, in pictures

Stasa and I went on a short walk around the neighborhood this evening since it was so pretty outside. Here are some pictures from our wanderings.

A HOA sign: No Dumping!

Litter in the street

A Miss Utility sticker. "Before you dig, every dig. It's the LAW."

The for sale sign on our corner. Don't think he's going to sell the house with the sign in this shape and the unmowed lawn. Dummy.

Evening walk

Tom and I took Stasa on a walk this evening. We went up to the Safeway for some Starbucks to relieve my headache and get in some exercise.

On the way I spied with my little eye...
Lots of recently mowed lawns
Wannabe thugs
A blonde family taking a stroll
A gang of tent caterpillers
Japanese (or red) maple trees

Here is our walk in pictures

Walking home

Ahhhh, sweet coffee

Pooperilla got tired of being pushed around and decided she wanted to be carried the rest of the way home.

Claude Moore Park

It was so beautiful today, Tom and I decided to take Stasa for a hike at Claude Moore. They have a lot of trails to choose from and we did the 1/2 mile one since I forgot the wrap and the stroller isn't quite built for off roading. Stasa slept for the entire hike and didn't wake up until we were relaxing by the pond. I think we'll be taking her there a lot as the weather gets nicer. Here are some pictures from our day.
