We finished reading a retelling of Little Women with the girls tonight and there were questions at the end of the book to talk about the themes with the kids.
I suggested we answer a few and Stasa said, "Yea, but let's take turns by raising our hands so there isn't a cacophony."

"Go back to bed, Stasa."
"But it's not fair that you and daddy get to relax and we don't."
::cries coming down the hall for the millionth time::
Tom: "Are you bleeding or broken?"
Lexi: "No."
Tom: "Go back to bed. Goodnight!"

Stasa, explaining a picture she drew: The baby has a question mark over her head because I don't know what she is yet.
December 24, 2014:
Watching a Pampers commercial that has close ups of sleeping babies and a woman softly singing Silent Night...
Stasa: Why are they singing Silent Night to those babies?
Me: I'm not sure - we'll see in a minute.
Stasa: Maybe they're dead babies.
Me: ...
October 17, 2014:
Stasa: Today I prayed for Lexi's tooth because it's dead.
February 2, 2014:
Stasa: Mommy remember when I was still 4 and Daddy yelled outside for us to come in because he cut his finger? And then he didn't go to the doctor? Daddy needs to be more careful and next time he cuts his finger he needs to go to the doctor. I hope the doctor has extra fingers to fix him. Or he will just have to grow more fingers. Right?

Sunday night bedtime included looking at my childhood pictures with Stasa. After flipping through an album, Stasa looked at me and asked: Mommy, did God make you look just like Stasa?
Me: Stasa, can you please take your stuff upstairs?
Stasa: Thank you for asking, but not right now, okay?

Me: Sure!
