I'm not sure if this is a normal toddler thing or if she's doing this because Lexi is always with us at night. Either way we're not getting a ton of sleep with 2 kids sharing our bed. Especially when the 2 kids take up more space than Tom and I combined. Tom and I are usually left with little slivers of space on the edge of the bed. Even though we're left with virtually no space, we do love cuddling with our girls. And since it's seen as family time, the cat always jumps up in bed, too. She refuses to be left out.

Bed sharing, whether we want to or not
Ever since we moved Stasa to her big girl bed she always comes straight to our room when she wakes up in the morning, which has been fine with me since she usually wakes up between 6:30 and 8:00 and I'm ready (okay, somewhat ready) to get up at that point. Lately she's been getting up in the middle of the night or the wee wee hours of the morning and either stands by our bed until we wake up or sometimes just climbs in and makes herself comfortable. If we hear her wake up we'll try to head her off at the pass and get her back in her bed before she leaves her room. Unfortunately we don't always hear her since we're sleeping when she comes in.

Pretty in pink
Before Alexia was born I unpacked all of our newborn and 0-3 month clothing that was gender neutral - basically all of the white, yellow, and green stuff. Once she was born I went back through and pulled out the rest of the stuff - mostly pink and ruffly clothes. Well, I realized that some of my favorite pieces were missing so Monday I went back through the clothes that were packed away and found 2 more Space Saver bags of clothes to unpack and in them I found one of my favorite onesies - the pink Ralph Lauren polo. Now, Lexi fits perfectly in newborn clothes right now and the 0-3 month stuff is still really baggy on her. This Ralph Lauren shirt is size 6 months and is just a little big on her - that's how small his stuff runs. I'm glad I remembered to unpack it now so she can get some wear out of it. And boy does she look adorable in it.

Stasa's first ER trip
Since it was so gorgeous out and we were already in the neighborhood we decided to pick Stasa up a little early today and Tom took her to the playground to run around. They came home and Stasa was weirdly quiet and holding her arm funny. Apparently she decided to play the limp noodle game with a twist. Tom was holding her hand and she twisted and pulled away from him and dropped to the ground. Tom said he heard a pop in her arm and she looked at him and said "Ouch, boo boo."
She was favoring her left arm a lot and cried when we touched her elbow so we packed everything up and headed to the ER. We saw the triage nurses right away and they gave her some big stickers and checked her vitals. Stasa LOVED the hospital bracelets they put on her. I didn't love the wait time to get back to a bed, but once we were brought back a pediatrician came and saw us immediately. She asked what happened and then started feeling Stasa's arm. Five seconds later she was done. Stasa had nursemaids elbow, basically she had dislocated her radius, which is a common injury in 1-3 year olds (mostly in girls around 27 months and in the left arm - all of which apply to Stasa). Stasa cried for a couple of seconds when the doctor popped her elbow back in place and was immediately happy afterwards and could put full pressure on her arm again. Amazing how she could go back to her normal self that fast.
The doctor explained what nursemaids elbow was and then showed us how to pop the bone back in place should it happen again. Then she gave Stasa a couple of giant Hello Kitty stickers and we were on our way. I would say that was $25 well spent.
First family walk
I have been dying to get out of the house and since we had decent weather the other day we decided to take a short family walk. It felt so good to get out and be active. We've been letting Stasa walk on her own, but she's still working on listening to us when we get to a corner. I was laughing after looking at these pictures because we ended up taking 3 strollers with us: 1 for Lexi, 1 for Stasa in case she got tired, and 1 for Stasa's baby.
