Arts and crafts

I bought Stasa some finger paints and Play Doh recently and we had a blast playing with both. And I was surprised she didn't try eating the finger paints at all - though she did give the Play Doh a taste and decided it wasn't at all tasty.

15 Weeks

I had the worst nightmare last night and forced myself to get out of bed to prove that it wasn't true. I don't mind vivid realistic dreams, but I'd prefer they be on the happier side. Not much else has been happening - just getting a little bigger each day, or at least that's how I feel. Fully clothed, I still just look like I'm getting chubby, not pregnant. I just pulled all of my maternity clothes out so I'll have them ready when I no longer fit in my regular clothes.

Oh and I've already had a couple of people touch my belly - not the biggest fan of that at all. I'm going to have to start smacking hands if more people touch me without asking first.

"Uh oh poo poo!"

Stasa has recently learned how to alert us that she's pooped.

She'll either tell us "mommy, poo poo" or "daddy, poo poo" (and now "ya ya, poo poo), or will simply bring us a clean diaper so she can be changed. Unfortunately she's also learned that if she yells this when she should be sleeping, we'll come up thinking that she needs to be changed. And she calls it out over and over again, until we eventually stop checking on her and she gives up her charade.

The little girl that cried poo. This should be a fun phase.

State of the Uterus

I went in for my monthly check-up today and our little baby's doing great - nice and strong heartbeat. It's so reassuring to hear the whoosh whoosh whoosh especially since I can't really feel anything right now. I've gained a pound since my last visit a month ago and my blood pressure is good, too. I've been getting terrible headaches and Tylenol really does nothing for them, so Dr. Gopal told me to have a small caffeinated drink in the morning and night to prevent them. Yay! Next I get to schedule our ultrasound for a month from now!

Oh and despite all of my massaging, I still managed to get a keloid at one of my incision sites, so now I have to apply hydrocortisone a few times a day and massage it even more. Dr. Gopal said they can't do anything else for it since I'm pregnant, but if it still hurts after I have the baby they can treat it with lasers. What can't lasers do?

Her first braid

Stasa's hair is getting a little long in the front and since I don't want to cut bangs and she pulls out all barrettes, I decided to try putting in a small braid. Surprisingly she sat still and happily played with her toys while I braided her hair. And it works! It keeps the majority of her hair out of her face - not that she seems to really care.

And more of her just being a nut:

Stasa's first haircut

Went a couple of weeks ago to get the back of Stasa's hair cleaned up. That's right, the baby mullet is no more. She was happy the whole time, watching cartoons on the TV and pointing out her daddy to everyone in the salon. The stylist wanted to cut bangs, but I put the kibosh on that since I'm not the biggest fan of bangs on little girls, especially ones that won't sit perfectly still while they're being cut.

Pointing out daddy to everyone:
