SNOW!

Tom and I both ended up working from home the day after the snowstorm and eventually ventured out to clear off our cars and shovel the driveway and to take Stas out for some snow play. She LOVES LOVES LOVES snow. Loves eating it, throwing it, kicking it, laying in it, everything about it. And she's pretty fast when walking through it, too.

All bundled up and ready to play

Today on the Stasa channel...

Balloons are never not fun.

There are many many ways to play with a slinky.

When you're a toddler, cleaning seems like a game and not a chore.

Learning to walk in the snow isn't always easy, but it's always fun.

Who cares that the snow isn't all white, it still tastes good.

"Snow" day!

We took Stasa out in the pathetic little snow we got over the weekend, mostly to get some use out of the snowsuit and boots we had already bought for the season. She didn't seem to mind that there wasn't a ton of the white stuff on the ground and spent the majority of the time throwing pre-made snowballs at the house.

Too much snow and other happenings

A newly acquired skill

Another party trick, just for Aunt Kelly

You thought it was going to be blowing kisses, didn't you? We're still working on that one.

Buried

You can't really tell from these pictures, but Stas and I are pretty much buried in the snow. It came up to my thigh as I waded out to the middle of our front yard and we sunk down when we sat. Stasa is still not a fan of the snow, especially when she has to sit in it alone. She calmed down after about 5 minutes, but wasn't enjoying herself. Third time's a charm?

The "Blizzard" of 2010

The snow started yesterday morning, but it was really light and wasn't sticking, just annoying like a drizzling rain. I started taking pictures of the accumulation around 5:30 last night and again when we got up this morning.

We have what looks like a couple of feet already and they're calling for at least 6-10 more inches of snow. Too bad we couldn't be snowed in with friends.

46 weeks and the first snow

Today we celebrated the first snow of the season. Stasa loved watching it from the warmth of the house, but it was a different story when it came time to go out in it. She was so unsure of all of the cold wet white stuff, but then warmed up a bit.

Here are some pictures from our weekend so far.

46 weeks old!

Waiting for daddy so we could go out in the snow (she wouldn't put down that monkey lovey)

Not so sure...
