Baby's heart rate: a healthy 145 beats/minute
Dilation: 3+cm
Effacement: 50%
Blood pressure and weight gain was good and everything looks favorable for me to go into labor on my own sometime this week. However, if I'm still pregnant by Monday we'll go in for an induction at 7:00 am. Either way we'll definitely meet this little one by Monday!!

Still pregnant
Twelve more days until my due date!
This week I'm wrapping things up at work and am mostly doing short-term projects that I can finish in a day or two or stuff that someone else can easily pick up in my absence. I've also got just 1 last homework assignment and a final quiz left before my Chemistry class is over. Other than that everything's ready for the baby's arrival. Our hospital bag is packed (except for the few toiletries we'll need to take with us), the car seat is installed, the house is clean, the laundry is done, and the bills are paid. We even tackled our home office and cleaned that room up and finished filing our personal papers.
We recently decided to go as paperless as possible and have scanned in just about every bill, medical record, and file that we could. We're only keeping hard copies of our tax documents, deeds, and anything else that could be needed in case of an audit or something. It's freed up so much space in our filing cabinet, which we in turn needed to use to store our work files since I've lost my office space and Tom will soon lose his this fall.
Booz Allen has decided to convert most of our DC Metro offices into hoteling space. It basically means that if you're a certain level you won't have an assigned office. Instead we'll have to log in to a reservation system and choose a different office each day. Since the majority of our staff are on a client site 98% of the time it makes a lot of sense for them to not have permanent offices. For someone like me who's in the office 4 days a week, this is going to be a real pain in the ass. At least we can reserve up to 5 days in a row and we get to choose where we'd like to sit - so I could potentially end up sitting in a nicer office than the one I had. Or I could be stuck sitting with a recruiter who's on the phone all.day.long. We'll see how it goes. I'll still work from home every Friday (and possibly more days) and Tom will probably start working from home 2 days a week, which is why we had to get our home office in order now.
So back to baby business. I have another doctor appointment this Wednesday and am hoping I'll have had some progress since last week especially since I've been having contractions off and on and have lost more of my mucous plug. Either way we'll definitely have a game plan mapped out by the end of the appointment. I can't wait to meet this baby!

My 30th Birthday!
Attempt #1 at a picture with Stas:

Attempt #2:

We finally gave up and just took a shot of my belly (which is also my 36 week belly picture).

Oh look who decided to try to be part of the family picture. Lunatic wanted nothing to do with pictures and just wanted to play in my shoes.

See?

State of the Uterus
I just got back from my 37 week appointment and there's not much to report. Baby's heartrate is good, my weight and blood pressure are good, the baby's head is really low, but I'm only 1 cm dilated and not at all effaced. Sooooooooo we wait and I go back next week.

Alone, for now
Tom left this morning for Jersey City to attend a friend's wedding. Our original plan was for me and Stas to go, too, but that was before I realized I would be 37 weeks pregnant and before my doctor said no more travel. So, it's just me and the Stas until Saturday afternoon/evening. We'll more than likely be laying low because I'm quickly running out of energy each day, but on Saturday we've got plans to meet Lauren and Audrey at Port Discovery in Baltimore. It's a giant (and I mean GIANT) indoor play space with 3 separate levels.
I have my next appointment tomorrow and will probably get an internal/cervical check even though it really doesn't mean anything since you can be a fingertip dilated one day and deliver the next or be 3 cm dilated for weeks. But I'm impatient and want to know if I've had any progress at all. I think the baby dropped this past weekend because my heartburn isn't nearly as bad and I have to pee every 5 minutes. I'll be 37 weeks this Saturday which makes me officially full term so I'll definitely be getting my hospital bag together just in case. Hopefully this baby decides to stay put until at least Sunday - I would not want to have to call Tom to have him rush home from New Jersey. Of course I've probably jinxed myself already and this baby won't come until I'm a week overdue.

State of the Uterus
35 weeks, 3 days pregnant - just about a month left!
I went in for my now weekly appointment and everything's looking good. The baby's heartrate was a healthy 155 and of course it's as active as ever. I'm measuring right on track - weight gain and blood pressure are both good. They gave me my post partum instructions today and I also signed a consent for surgery (should I need it) and tissue removal. I have the option of getting cervical checks starting at 37 weeks, but it's up to me. I guess I'll see how I feel at that point (though it's less than 2 weeks away) because it can be somewhat frustrating to find out that you aren't dilated or effaced at all. And really it means nothing because you can be a fingertip dilated and then deliver the next day or be 3 cm dilated for weeks!
We're pretty much all ready at home, I just need to pack our hospital bag and Stasa's overnight bag, but I probably won't do that until next weekend. I do still have quite a bit to finish transitioning at work and I'll hopefully have that finished by the end of this week and then I'll just take on short-term projects until I go out on leave.
Oh and I do have some weekly belly pictures to post and will try to do that tonight. Ever since I got my iPad I've been terrible about downloading pictures and posting them in a timely fashion. The iPad's made me super lazy.

State of the Uterus
Another appointment.
I've gained a total of 16 pounds since I got pregnant, my blood pressure is good, and everything's looking good. The baby is already head down and should stay that way which means I probably won't need a c-section. The doctor did say that I shouldn't be surprised if I end up going into labor with this baby 10 or so days early.
I also got the paperwork for circumcision (if we end up having a boy) and the pre-registration materials for the hospital. Now I just need to start the process at work to get signed up for short-term disability.

State of the Uterus
Well, I passed the glucose test with flying colors, but tested as being slightly anemic so I have to start taking an iron supplement, which is the same as when I was pregnant with Stasa. I went for my last monthly appointment today and will start going every two weeks now until I'm 36 weeks. I've gained another 5 pounds and the baby's heartbeat was nice and strong at 150 beats a minute.
I've been having Braxton Hicks contractions, which are pretty uncomfortable, but manageable. The heartburn still comes and goes, but hasn't been as bad lately.
This baby has been way more active in utero than Stasa ever was. The other night it must have been doing somersaults and other gymnastics in there because I was getting feet, legs, head, butt, pretty much every body part jammed into my sides.
