Catching up

Aunt Jennifer and Uncle Josh came to visit the weekend before Thanksgiving (and Uncle Mattie, but I don't have any pics of him). Jennifer came to dance class with us on Saturday and then Josh, Jennifer, the girls, and I went to Reston Zoo on Sunday.

And then there was Thanksgiving, which included the annual turkey fry. The turkey derrick goes up:

The turkey went in:

We all hung around and "supervised":

And the turkey came out, with a new tan:

Other than that, we've just been hanging out at the house and doing some winter crafts.

Best looking snowman EVER.

Oh! And we started decorating for Christmas.

What our typical evening looks like

When the girls decide to play downstairs:

This one's nothing but trouble:

While this one has more sophisticated tastes in "toys":

And this one will take whatever attention she can get:

The First Dance Class

I've been searching for a few months for the perfect dance class for Stasa - something not too pricey, something a little relaxed, something somewhat nearby, and something just for her. I finally decided on the Loudoun Dance Academy in Leesburg - they have a Tiny Tots ballet class every Saturday morning AND the kids in that class get to participate in the spring recital!!!!! Can you tell I'm a tad bit excited about that?!

We got to the dance studio a bit early on Saturday so I could get Stasa enrolled and sized for ballet slippers. I started to get a little nervous that she wouldn't really participate and would just do what she wanted, but let it go since we came to have fun.

She was fantastic. I mean, there were definitely moments when one girl would climb on the mats in the corner of the studio and then Stasa would follow suit, but man, she quickly followed directions and learned to passé, do butterflies, walk backwards on her tippy toes, walk and kick (both forward and backward), and the most important: first position.

Needless to say, we can't wait for next week - poor Stas cried because dance class was over.

On the ride there:

Unsure:

Miss Kaleigh said "let's dance" and Stasa ran out first.
